Launched in 1984 by Nokia, the Mobira Talkman promised to be a car phone that gives you "full performance without the car," as an early advertisement attests. The "portable phone" was great for those looking to make calls away from the comfort of their cars, but users had to tote around the huge battery pack with the actual phone, since the handset's battery life was severely limited. This made lugging the Talkman around quite the chore, almost like carrying around a free-weight, since it weighed more than 10 pounds. Sure makes Research In Motion's BlackBerry Pearl flip phone (3.6 ounces) seem light, right?
Do you remeber this nice little Nokia The Mobira Talkman 450 car phone FOR NMT networks, manufactured during 1986 - 1992. This phone was used IN large amounts IN ALL Nordic countries. The NMT450 phones can also be FOUND IN the Czech Republic, Holland AND Hungary. You cannot play games, download ringtones OR browse the web WITH this phone.AND it´s virus protected without ANY software. The Talkman IS FOR making phone calls AND talking! Ithink it didn´t have ANY games OR wallpapers. It had one ringrone though! I know a guy who always had this phone IN his backpack - it was the FIRST REAL mobile phone I have seen.
