Motorola 4800x (Released 1992)
These phones have become known as 'brick' mobile phones. At 1.5Kg the term 'mobile' in this case simply meant that you could move it. Carrying it around with you was more of a physical endurance challenge!
It used a 12v battery and gave a talk time of around 2 hours (if you were lucky!)
The Motorola 4800x went on sale in 1992 and was bought by posers up and down the country :-)
